An opportunity has arisen for a Renal Supportive Care Nurse based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What you will do:

You will assist and support the RSC Nurse Specialist to maintain the RSC service, which provides quality person-centred palliative, supportive and end of life care for people with Advanced Kidney Disease, and their families, throughout Ayrshire & Arran.

You will work independently but with direct support and supervision from the RSC Nurse Specialist, Lead Kidney Nurse Specialist and Clinical Lead for RSC. The post holder will work in partnership with all members of the renal MDT and will liaise with other health and social care professionals.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration with experience of working in a renal setting
  • Educated to degree level or working towards degree
  • Excellent knowledge of Advanced/End Stage Renal Disease, Renal Supportive Care, Renal Replacement Therapies and Renal Anaemia
  • Portfolio of evidence in supportive, palliative and end of life care
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organisational skills

Hours:

24 hours per week
