The Trust has on-site nursery facilities. Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital are 4.5 miles apart with a free staff shuttle service. Both hospitals are within walking distance of mainline stations, where there is a reliable train service to London Liverpool Street station every 10 minutes (with a travelling time of 15-30 minutes).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Clinical responsibility for the proper functioning of the Renal Unit, including ward rounds and out-patient clinics.
  2. Perform relevant practical procedures.
  3. Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate education programs, including supervision of junior medical staff and undergraduate medical students, and take an active part in local and regional educational programs.
  4. Develop standards, procedures, and systems on the ward that ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care.
  5. Work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective teamwork in the Renal team in the provision of medical care to the patients on the unit.
  6. Develop clinical guidelines/community protocols and best practices for the management of a wide range of acute medical presentations/admissions.
  7. Ensure robust risk management and governance arrangements are in place on the ward, supported by our clinical governance lead.
  8. Participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes, including reviews of manpower requirements.
  9. Liaise closely with the Emergency Department, Medical and Critical Care teams at Queen’s Hospital and other in-patient teams to ensure collaborative working arrangements that maximize benefits to patient care.
  10. Assist in training and supervision of medical trainees in all procedures.
