Job summary

Diaverum AB invites applications for a field-based Renal Engineer to support our dialysis clinics across the region. You will maintain and service dialysis equipment, renal water treatment systems and related devices, ensuring safety and reliability for patient care.

Key duties include installation support, spare parts management, and providing technical guidance to clinical teams while traveling across multiple clinics. A driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical devices or electro-mechanical equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, repair of dialysis equipment and renal water treatment systems.
• Ensure equipment safety, compliance and reliability for clinical use.
• Assist installation, commissioning, evaluation and adaptation of medical devices.
• Order and manage spare parts to maintain equipment to high standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Provide technical expertise to support dialysis treatment across clinics.
• Advise clinical teams on renal replacement therapies and equipment.
• Monitor dialysis water quality and ensure compliance with standards.
• Take ownership of technical support across the region.
• Participate in occasional weekend work and on-call support.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled and motivatedRenal Engineerto join our technical services team. This is a varied and rewarding field-based role where you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support, maintenance, and specialist expertise across our dialysis clinics.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of dialysis-related medical equipment, renal water treatment systems, dialysis therapy chairs, and other associated medical devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, repair, and acceptance testing on dialysis equipment and renal water treatment systems.
• Ensure all equipment remains safe, compliant, reliable, and fit for clinical use.
• Support the installation, commissioning, evaluation, and adaptation of medical devices where required.
• Order and manage spare parts and accessories, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standard.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Provide technical expertise to support the delivery of dialysis treatment across assigned clinics.
• Advise clinical teams on the technical aspects of renal replacement therapies and associated equipment.
• Monitor dialysis water quality and interpret testing results to ensure compliance with required standards.
• Take ownership of technical support activities across a designated geographical region.
• Participate in occasional weekend work and on-call support as required.

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in renal engineering, although applications from other relevant engineering backgrounds are welcomed.

• Experience working with medical devices, electro-mechanical equipment, or similar technical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working across multiple locations.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
• Previous experience within renal or dialysis environments.
• Knowledge of dialysis machines and renal water treatment systems.
• Experience working withNipro, Nikkiso, or B. Braun dialysis equipment is desirable
