The regulatory landscape in Financial Services has grown increasingly complex since the 2008 FinancialCrisis. Within the wealth management sector, we’ve experienced significant changes, from the RetailDistribution Review (RDR) in 2012 to, in more recent years, the implementation of new prudential regimes
for investment firms in the UK and Europe, the introduction of the Consumer Duty in the UK, MiFID II andupdates to AIFM and UCITS regulations. Looking ahead, the Advice Guidance Boundary Review (AGBR) willbring further transformative change to the industry and has the potential to help close the advice gap in theUK.
The impact of these regulations on remuneration policy and practice can be challenging to navigate. Itrequires strong technical knowledge of the various regulatory requirements and a sound understanding ofthe business and its activities. This will include an understanding of the Group governance structure, profileof material risks and implementation of the Senior Manager and Certification Regime (SMCR) and how itinteracts with remuneration regulations.
This role will help to shape overarching policy, governance and best practice in respect of remunerationregulations as well as manage the day-to-day activities required to meet our compliance obligations both ata solo-entity level and a consolidated Group level.
Beyond our regulatory obligations, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop and embed effective rewardgovernance to ensure Quilter’s remuneration policies and practices are fit for purpose, support goodconduct and do not create conflicts of interests, whilst reinforcing our refreshed Purpose and Values. You’ll
work with first-, second- and third-line colleagues up to Group CRO level to ensure there is a strong controlenvironment and sufficient operational assurance regarding the day-to-day operation of remunerationplans.
Working with business stakeholders and colleagues across the HR, Risk and Compliance and Finance teamsin particular, the role holder will be responsible for:
The annual review of the Material Risk Taker (MRT) Framework
Identification of MRTs in accordance with the relevant Remuneration Code criteria
Notification to MRTs of identified status
Maintenance of the MRT list and tracking of in-year changes
Analysis of proportionality levels and implementation of updates to policy and practice as required
Modelling and oversight of MRT pay ratios
Drafting Remuneration Committee and Board papers on all regulatory and governance matters
Drafting qualitative and quantitative remuneration disclosures
Drafting of the annual Remuneration Policy Statement
The annual review of the Malus and Clawback policy
Supporting compliance reviews and internal audit engagements regarding regulatory requirements
Horizon scanning for regulatory updates, analysing and interpreting the impact of remunerationregulatory change on Quilter
Staying abreast of market practice and emerging trends in remuneration policy and governance
The annual review of the internal Remuneration Policy and Incentive Plans Governance Framework
Leading on policy attestation and assurance work
Supporting analysis of all ex-ante and ex-post material risks for risk adjustment considerations
Analysing and leading on the remuneration regulatory implications of mergers & acquisition activity
You will also support as needed the wider Reward agenda and annual reward cycle covering a wide range ofactivities, such as the annual compensation review, annual remuneration reporting, our flexible benefitsprogramme and share plan administration. You will be joining a dynamic team of reward professionals in afast-paced environment.
You will have significant working knowledge of Financial Services remuneration regulations
You will have experience of operating models and governance structures in multi-facetedbusinesses
You will have a keen eye for detail and be highly rigorous with legal and regulatory information
You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
With strong analytical skills, you will be confident with and able to distil large and complex data
You will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability toengage up to executive level
You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, fostering strong workingrelationships across different businesses and functions
You will have the ability and willingness to operate at both a policy and operational level
