Job summary

Pickfords is the UK's leading relocation moving and storage company. We are looking for a full time Driver (3.5T, LGV/HGV, 7.5T) and Porter to join our removals team. The role involves packing, loading and unloading vehicles, safely handling customers’ possessions and delivering excellent customer service.

Candidates must hold a valid UK driving licence for all roles. An LGV/HGV Class 2 licence is preferred but not essential, as training and development opportunities may be provided.

Qualifications

• Valid UK drivers licence essential.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Good team-working skills with the ability to take responsibility.
• Experience in removals, moving, logistics or a similar role is desirable.
• Willingness to work away from home and occasional weekends when required.
• Full training will be provided where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Safely pack, load, transport and unload customers’ possessions.
• Provide a professional and friendly service to customers.
• Work as part of a team and, where required, lead and support colleagues.
• Ensure Company health & safety and working procedures are followed.
• Complete vehicle and equipment checks where applicable.
• Liaise with customers and colleagues to ensure moves run smoothly.
• Support other operational duties as required.

The role involves supporting domestic and commercial moves, including packing, loading and unloading vehicles, safely handling customers’ possessions and providing excellent customer service. Candidates must hold a valid UK driving licence for all types of roles. An LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence is preferred but not essential, as training and development opportunities may be provided for candidates if interested.
