Job summary

Voodoo Park is seeking an experienced Warehouse Management System/Logistics Solution Architect to lead the solution design for a greenfield platform for a major operator. You will drive high-level architecture in collaboration with the CTO, engineering teams and client SMEs, turning detailed requirements into a scalable system.

The role involves discovery, architecture, design, and potential ongoing involvement through testing and implementation.

Qualifications

• Architect warehouse management systems or logistics platforms.
• Design WMS platforms, not just configure packaged systems.
• Inventory and stock movement architecture.
• Warehouse location, capacity and reservation models.
• Receiving, put-away, internal movement, picking, dispatch processes.
• Complex operational workflows with scanning or handheld devices.
• Integration between operational systems and ERP/financial platforms.
• API-first and modular enterprise application architecture.
• Designing systems where audit trails and data integrity are critical.
• Working directly with warehouse/logistics teams to translate real-world processes into software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and high-level design of the logistics management system.
• Translate operational requirements into system domains, services, workflows and data models.
• Define boundaries between major functional areas and data flows.
• Design core warehouse concepts: inventory, locations, zones, capacity, reservations, stock movements, intake, picking, dispatch and stock history.
• Advise on workflows for palletised goods, cold storage, general/project cargo and containers.
• Design integrations with ERP, weighbridge, vehicle monitoring, scanning and external data sources.
• Define API, event, transaction and integration patterns.
• Ensure inventory and operational transactions have integrity, traceability and auditability.
• Design for high availability, scalability, security and disaster recovery.
• Identify gaps, ambiguities and risks in functional requirements.
• Work with engineering teams to keep implementation aligned with architecture.
• Support testing strategy around complex workflows and inventory integrity.
• Produce architecture and design documentation.
• Mentor customer developers and support knowledge transfer.
