Job summary

VPss is seeking a Vehicle Systems Engineer to help acquire and integrate data from EV and commercial vehicles. You will build a vehicle data pipeline, decode signals, and support in-cab products with automation and tooling.

The role focuses on strong collaboration with OEMs, builders, and fleet operators, and involves travel to vehicle suppliers and partner sites from a remote UK base.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
• Experience with vehicle systems diagnostics and electrical architecture.
• Deep knowledge of diagnostic standards SAE J1939 and J1979.
• Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Proactive planner able to manage a broad workload.
• Confident communicator with internal teams, OEMs, and fleet customers.

Responsibilities

• Source and acquire target vehicles for integration based on the roadmap.
• Access vehicle data via interfaces like OBDII, proprietary connectors, and direct loom access.
• Capture and log raw data in structured formats for analysis and simulation.
• Decode signals to derive parameters such as speed, battery state, torque, fault codes.
• Document integrations for Field Installation Engineers and customers.
