Job summary

Vertex Sigma Software is seeking an EV Vehicle Technician to maintain electric vehicle fleets, support prototype builds, and install instrumentation for testing. You will diagnose issues with diagnostic tools, perform repairs to manufacturer specs, and help prepare vehicles for development programs.

This role involves hands-on work in the workshop, strict safety and documentation practices, and extensive field testing at sites, including travel to US test locations up to 70%.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Automotive Repair or related program is required.
  • ASE Certification preferred or required where applicable.
  • Michigan State Mechanic Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair activities on electric vehicles.
  • Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Conduct post-repair testing to ensure vehicles are operating correctly.
  • Ensure all repair work meets manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Support prototype vehicle builds and system modifications.
  • Assist engineers with development activities, parts replacement, testing preparation, and evaluation.
  • Install and maintain instrumentation for vehicle testing and data collection.
  • Construct and install test harnesses for vehicle systems.
  • Safely apply testing equipment to EV high-voltage battery systems.
  • Support vehicle testing activities in-house and at external locations.
  • Provide on-site technical support during development and testing programs.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, safety, and inventory records.
  • Travel up to 70% to vehicle testing sites in the US for field work.
