Job summary

MongoDB Professional Services is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer based remotely in Great Britain. You will tackle technically sophisticated problems, gain cross-stack experience, and collaborate with top professionals while supporting customer implementations across the application lifecycle.

The role requires travel to customer sites up to 15% and involves training and advisory work with public sector clients.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development/consulting/support experience
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures and deployment/operations
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic skills and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to travel up to 15% for short trips to customer sites
• Experience working with Public Sector customers

Responsibilities

• Contribute to customer implementations across the application lifecycle: assessment, planning, deployment architectures, development and build, integration and release, testing, production operations, optimization, and best practices adoption
• Deliver customer classroom-based training to architect, developer, and operations roles
• Work as part of a wider delivery team with consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams
• Cultivate MongoDB reputation as a trusted advisor to guide customers forward
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence MongoDB product roadmap
• Become a field expert in “everything MongoDB”
• Communicate complex proposals clearly to diverse audiences
• Help ensure client success with MongoDB endeavors
• Maintain required billable utilization
• Contribute field experience to product development
• Communicate the product roadmap to external clients
• Continuously improve oneself, products, and team
