Job summary

Charles River is seeking a Security Operations professional to manage vulnerabilities across applications, endpoints, databases, networking devices, cloud, mobile and third-party assets. This remote UK-based role requires 5+ years in information security and hands-on vulnerability management experience.

The role covers vulnerability assessment, auditing support, and performing penetration tests on internal and cloud assets, including web apps and APIs, with UK business hours expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in information security operations, vulnerability management, or related discipline.
• Equivalent education/experience may be accepted.
• Strong understanding of information security, applications, OS, networking, cloud infrastructure, and attacker TTPs.
• Understanding of OWASP, CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and SDLC.
• Capability to script in Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell.
• IT security certification desired (Security+, CISSP, CISA, GCED, GPEN, GCIH, or similar).
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and self-initiative skills.
• Must work UK business hours, regardless of home location.

Responsibilities

• Manage vulnerabilities across applications, endpoints, databases, networking devices, and mobile, cloud, and third-party assets.
• Conduct continuous discovery and vulnerability assessment of enterprise-wide assets.
• Support auditors in duties focused on compliance and risk reduction.
• Perform penetration tests against company-owned assets, including internal and cloud-based assets, as well as web applications and APIs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide hands-on vulnerability management, reporting, remediation, and continuous assessment support.
• Participate in penetration testing and red teaming activities.
