Job summary

Commonwealth Heritage Forum seeks a strategic Chief Executive to deliver its 2026–2030 plan and oversee heritage programmes, governance and fundraising from a distributed UK team. The role requires senior leadership across funding, partnerships and stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will drive programme delivery, financial oversight and external relations with Trustees, funders, partners and international collaborators.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in the heritage sector and/or heritage skills training.
• Strong leadership and management experience, including working with a Board and distributed team.
• Strategic judgement with a track record of delivering to deadlines.
• Sound financial, budgetary governance and risk-management capability.
• Experience in fundraising, partnerships or income diversification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CHF’s 2026–2030 strategy and oversee all aspects of the charity’s work.
• Ensure the successful delivery of the £12.26 million heritage skills programme.
• Develop fundraising, partnerships and sustainable revenue streams.
• Maintain governance, compliance, budgets, audits and annual accounts.
• Lead a small remote team and manage relationships with Trustees, funders and partners.
