CBSbutler is seeking a hands-on Technical Architect for a remote, 6-month contract to drive a composable commerce platform for a major retail client.

You will lead architecture, engineering and production support, with a focus on MACH, TypeScript/Node.js and Microsoft Azure, guiding teams through incidents and platform improvements.

You should bring senior technical credibility, strong mentoring skills and a proven ability to balance rapid services restoration with long‑term engineering quality.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in composable commerce architectures.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale production support and incident response.
• Deep knowledge of MACH architecture, Azure, and TypeScript/Node.js.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership across production support and changes.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Review architecture, code, and PRs to ensure quality.
• Drive CI/CD improvements, testing, and observability.
• Mentor engineers and establish independent technical ownership.
