Job summary

STATS Group in Kintore (Aberdeenshire) seeks a Workshop Technician to handle survey, disassembly, repair, assembly and testing of tools and equipment in line with STATS standards. You will ensure safety, maintain product quality, and move materials within the shop while supporting supervisors.

The role requires internal training, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and strong communication. Applicants must pass pre-employment physicals and be familiar with pressure systems.

Qualifications

• Familiar with pressure equipment and piping.
• Able to pass STATS pre-employment physical tests.
• Experience in industrial mechanical environments.
• Mechanical aptitude and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, assemble and test tools/equipment to STATS standards.
• Maintain high quality of STATS products and services.
• Work safely on site and report safety issues.
• Move materials/equipment within the shop.
• Report defects to the Workshop Supervisor.
• Ensure drawings and procedures are up-to-date.
• Assist with new assembly/testing techniques to improve productivity or safety.
• Liaise with Level 2 & 3 Technicians and Supervisors.
• Any other duties as required.
• Liaise on material/customer/project issues.

Job Purpose

• To carry out product-line responsibilities of workshop duties to ensure the timely preparation of customer job orders and completion to a high-quality standard of routine workshop activities.

Direct Reports to

• Workshop Supervisor

Internal Relationships

• Workshop Supervision, Operations Manager, Project Managers and Project Engineers.

Main Responsibilities

• To survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, assemble and test tools / equipment to standards and procedures set out by STATS Ltd& STATS customers and clients.
• Work too and maintain a high standard of quality to the STATS products and services.
• Work in a safe manner at all times to protect all colleagues, visitors and clients on site.
• To carry out the movement of material / equipment within the shop area.
• To ensure that all defect to material, components or equipment is reported to the Workshop Supervisor.
• Ensure all relevant drawing's, procedures and instructions are to the latest revisions, prior to work commencing.
• Aid in the proposal and introduction of new assembly and testing techniques to improve productivity or safety.
• To liaise with Level 2 & 3 Technicians and the Workshop/Assembly & Test Supervisor on any issues arising.
• To report any environmental and health & safety issues that arise.
• To work within STATS standards and company procedures at all times.
• Involved in Environmental, Health & Safety issues.
• Any other duties required by the Workshop/Assembly & Test Supervisor.
• Liaison with the Workshop/Assembly & Test Supervisor and Workshop Technicians on any material, customer / project issues.

Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities

• To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
• Ensure all accidents / incidents / near misses / hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is complete.

STATS Internal Course - Basic Level

• Tecno Plug, BISEP, Remotes, Hot Tapping etc.

EXPERIENCE / Competence / Skills / Knowledge

• Familiar with pressure equipment / piping and hazards of working on pressurised systems.
• Must have completed and passed level 1 and 2 internal technical training.
• Must be able to pass the STATS pre-employment physical tests.Must have worked in an industrial and mechanical environment.
• Mechanical aptitude skills and excellent communication skills to be able to work independently and / or as part of a team.
• Able to meet the physical demands of the position.

Qualifications

• A level 1 employee shall be able to work independently on activities that the person is qualified to perform.
• A level 1 employee shall not perform any supervision activities.
