Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Senior User Research Manager to shape the future of Personal Banking. You will lead research across Core Banking and partner with Product, Design, Engineering and Data Science leaders to influence roadmaps and business strategy.

You’ll manage managers and ~6-8 reports, driving a coherent research strategy as Monzo expands internationally, while maintaining rigorous methods and fast delivery to build great products.

Qualifications

• Leading senior researchers and/or research managers within a complex product organisation.
• Shaping and influencing product strategy through research at both organisational and executive level.
• Bringing together disparate customer insights into a coherent strategic narrative.
• Navigating complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities, metrics and timelines.
• Partnering with Product, Design, Engineering and Data Science leaders to influence roadmaps and business strategy.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for both people leadership and strategic research leadership.
• Lead research across Core Banking and craft a coherent Personal Banking research strategy.
• Partner with Core Banking Leadership, Product Directors, Design leaders and senior stakeholders across Wealth, Payments, Borrowing and Europe.
• Help define and land parts of Monzo's global research operating model as we expand internationally.
• Connect customer insights across collectives to identify themes, opportunities and gaps.
• Combine research, product data, market insights and quantitative evidence to inform leadership decisions.
• Manage managers and support approximately 6-8 direct and indirect reports while upholding high research quality.
• Create an environment where researchers balance rigour with speed to build great products.
