Job summary

Fastly’s Technical Operations (TechOps) team builds and runs the Edge Cloud Platform and global network with hundreds of PoPs. We’re seeking an experienced SRE with a strong focus on networks to help craft the future of Fastly’s network and improve operational rigor.

As a Senior SRE - Networks, you’ll own and operate the global network footprint, respond to traffic incidents, write performant code, and develop automation tools to optimize edge performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, Anycast and DNS.
• Automation and coding experience (Python or similar).
• Proficiency with monitoring/observability tools such as Grafana/Prometheus/Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and maintain Fastly’s global network footprint.
• Lead network incidents and resolve edge cases in routing.
• Write performant, maintainable code and contribute to reviews.
• Develop tools/automation to improve network operations.
• Improve network performance monitoring focused on end-user experience.
• Mentor teammates on global routing and Anycast concepts.
