City Science is seeking an experienced Python developer to design, build and maintain production-grade Python packages for modelling and data processing. You will work closely with DESNZ, external collaborators and our internal domain experts to translate user needs into reliable software.

The role includes line management responsibilities; you may currently lead one or more developers or be ready to take that step, supported by our leadership training.

Competenze

• Strong professional experience as a Python developer at or near senior level.
• Excellent command of Python and its ecosystem, libraries, tooling and best practice.
• Track record of building production-grade applications, ideally in data-rich or scientific domains.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Experience line managing or mentoring developers, or willingness to take on line management responsibilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to explain technical ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
