Job summary

LaraBench is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join a fintech-style engineering team. This full-time role offers remote work across the UK with a focus on building and evolving enterprise-grade software using PHP/Laravel, React and cloud services.

You will own significant features from design through production, collaborating with Product and a small, experienced team to balance technical quality with timely delivery. AI-assisted development is part of the tooling strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Experience designing and building APIs, backend services and integrations.
• Full-stack development experience, ideally including React or another modern JavaScript framework.
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud environments.
• Understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and modern development practices.
• Experience taking responsibility for software throughout the development lifecycle.
• Interest in AI-assisted software development and how these tools can be used effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain product features using PHP, Laravel, React and AWS.
• Build backend services, APIs and integrations across a cloud-based platform.
• Take ownership of development from design through deployment and production support.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and improvements across systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and other teams to deliver working software.
