We are urgently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work on a fully remote basis, but you need to live or pay tax in the UK. You will be part of a growing company undergoing a technology upgrade and embarking on an exciting new journey.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will support our cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with software engineering, IT operations, and security teams to streamline processes, improve system reliability, and ensure efficient and secure cloud deployments.

In addition to DevOps responsibilities, you will play a key role in building and maintaining web applications, leading development efforts, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring best practices in coding and architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using services like EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, and others.
  2. Develop and manage automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying, testing, and monitoring applications.
  3. Create infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
  4. Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are built to scale and deploy efficiently.
  5. Manage monitoring and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or other monitoring tools.
  6. Automate security processes and ensure AWS best practices are followed.
  7. Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with teams for effective resolution.
  8. Optimize cloud environments for cost, performance, and reliability.
  9. Implement and manage containerization and orchestration solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, or EKS).
  10. Maintain and manage databases and storage systems within AWS, ensuring data integrity and security.
  11. Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
  12. Stay updated on AWS services and emerging DevOps tools and methodologies.
  13. Stay updated on emerging technologies and frameworks to improve development processes and application performance.
  14. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and technical issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  1. 3+ years of experience working with AWS services and managing cloud infrastructure.
  2. Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS or AWS CDK.
  3. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Github actions.
  4. Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
  5. Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
  6. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK stack, Prometheus, etc.).
  7. Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, etc.) in cloud environments.
  8. Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and best practices, including continuous integration and deployment.
  9. Experience with security best practices for cloud infrastructure (IAM roles, security groups, VPC configurations, etc.).
  10. Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  2. Experience with serverless architecture and services (Lambda, API Gateway, etc.).
  3. Knowledge of database technologies like RDS, DynamoDB, and Kubernetes.
  4. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
