Job summary

NHS Western Isles is inviting applications for a Rural Acute GP on Barra and Vatersay. The post is based at Barra Medical Practice in Castlebay and involves primary care, urgent care, and hospital cover, with a multi-disciplinary team and remote island responsibilities.

The role welcomes experienced GPs and those early in their careers, offering a unique opportunity to develop clinical skills in a supportive remote setting. PVG registration applies; relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications

• Remote and rural medicine experience beneficial.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary, remote team.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care, urgent and unscheduled care, and community hospital medical cover.
• Support nursing and allied colleagues and contribute to development of primary care and acute services on the island.
