Job summary

NHS Scotland, Orcades Practice – Westray branch, Island of Westray, is seeking a GP for a permanent, single-handed post within a small island community. The role includes 18 weeks plus study leave (plus 21.18 weeks), and a salary of £104,253–£119,198 with a 45% enhancement for 24/7 cover and Distant Islands Allowance pro rata.

Responsibilities

• Be a single-handed GP in a wider supportive team of GPs and Nurses
• Provide routine visiting service to support Nurse Practitioner led service on the neighbouring island (Papa Westray)
• Participate in rotations and on-call duties with 24/7 coverage
• Engage in remote/island community healthcare and ongoing professional development
