Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join the Regional Civils team on the Apollo Substation project in Bridgwater. You will provide engineering support across your section, from planning through to completion, ensuring works meet approved designs, specifications and programme requirements.

Qualifications

• Site-based engineering experience on construction projects.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction processes and quality requirements.
• Setting out and surveying experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality.
• Experience collaborating with construction, design and commercial teams.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering support to the project delivery team.
• Manage and monitor engineering activities within your allocated section.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information, identifying any issues.
• Undertake setting out and dimensional control using surveying equipment.
• Ensure works are constructed in accordance with designs, specifications and quality requirements.
• Produce and maintain site records, inspection and test plans and quality documentation.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Sub Agents, Design Managers and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with the preparation and review of RAMS and construction methodologies.
