Job summary

Ultralytics is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to design neural network architectures for YOLO models and drive research from concept to production-ready open-source implementations. You will work at the intersection of research and production, implementing novel architectures, evaluating them with rigorous experiments, and contributing to future releases with teammates across the globe.

The role is remote, offering ownership of impactful ML work, opportunities to publish, and collaboration

Qualifications

• 5+ years in computer vision and deep learning with architecture design.
• Experience building models from scratch, not just fine-tuning pretrained checkpoints.
• Proficiency in PyTorch with custom layers and training loops.

Responsibilities

• Design and build novel neural network architectures for next-generation YOLO models.
• Develop core components including backbones, necks, heads, attention modules, and efficient building blocks.
• Read, reproduce, and extend cutting-edge papers into working model architectures from scratch.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to turn research ideas into production-ready open-source models.
