Overview

As a Remote Professional Construction Tutor, you will deliver engaging, high-quality instruction across professional construction subjects such as surveying, construction management, architectural design & planning, CAD, and built environment studies. Using online teaching platforms, you will help learners develop technical competence, critical thinking, and industry knowledge to achieve professional qualifications and excel in careers such as quantity surveying, project management, design coordination, and related fields.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver online teaching in professional construction disciplines (e.g., building surveying, construction management, architectural design & planning, digital construction/CAD, sustainability, and the wider built environment).
• Create and adapt lesson plans for remote delivery using virtual classrooms, collaborative tools, and digital resources.
• Assess learner work (projects, portfolios, CAD files, reports), provide constructive feedback, and guide learners towards achieving relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, Degree Apprenticeships).
• Monitor learner progress, set targets, and provide one-to-one support to address gaps in knowledge or skills.
• Embed industry standards, regulations, and best practice (e.g., BIM principles, health & safety, sustainability frameworks).
• Maintain accurate records for awarding bodies and internal quality assurance.
• Liaise with employers, professional bodies (RICS, CIOB, CIAT), and other stakeholders to align teaching with industry needs and support apprenticeships or placements.
• Integrate professional skills such as project management, communication, and digital literacy into all teaching.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality & diversity, and data-protection policies.
• Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance, and ongoing professional development.
