Job summary

Ex-Mill Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Portfolio Product Owner for a permanent, predominantly remote role with fortnightly travel to the Midlands. You will bridge customers, engineering and strategy to translate complex requirements into clear priorities and ensure products evolve with operational needs and market opportunities.

The role suits ex-military professionals with digital tech, cyber, information systems or capability management experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Product Owner or similar in software/tech environments.
• Strong backlog management and engineering collaboration in Agile settings.
• Understanding of cyber security, secure info exchange, or information assurance; high-assurance backgrounds desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage product backlogs and translate portfolio objectives for engineering.
• Define and communicate product goals, priorities and delivery objectives across teams.
• Support technical decisions and clarify requirements with engineering teams.
• Own end-to-end product release processes including planning, deployment and acceptance.
• Develop delivery plans, forecasts and updates for senior stakeholders.
• Manage product lifecycles, supplier changes and end-of-life activity.
• Engage directly with customers to understand operational needs and feedback.
• Champion products through customer presentations and market material.
• Collaborate with portfolio leadership to align roadmaps and strategy.
