Product Development Technician

Location: Stafford, with hybrid working

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Product Development Technician to join our team based in Stafford. The purpose of this role is to work across our SME E-Trade offering to enact change to the product suite, ensuring that all our E-Trade products are fit for purpose and aligned with business plan objectives. Whether you're looking to build on existing insurance experience or pivot your career into Product Development, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in the insurance industry!

Your New Role
Project delivery
  • Manage e-trade product changes from end to end, taking full ownership of the project delivery to support business plan objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including e-trade management, Underwriting, Pricing, Actuarial, IT, and MI teams to agree scope and requirements of product changes, as well as keeping them informed on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Work with external stakeholders (Acturis, Polaris, and other Software Houses) to ensure delivery is as per QBE requirements, on time and on budget.
  • Ensure product changes are rigorously tested. Create test packs to confirm change build is as per QBE requirements and mitigate issues and errors.
  • Provide technical support to our preferred supplier during the UAT testing phase.
  • Ensure compliance with all governance measures.
Agile work
  • Enable smaller, more frequent product changes, working with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure systems are working correctly, including successful data uploads to mitigate risk and enable business trading and data flow.
  • Investigate BAU product errors/upload failures and work with stakeholders to resolve them successfully.
About You
  • Relevant experience in Insurance and/or in a Business Analyst/Systems Analyst/Product Technician role (or similar).
  • Proactive and clear communication skills.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.
  • Experience managing work to deadlines.
  • Stakeholder management at various levels.
  • Testing and project management experience (preferred).
