We're looking for talented RPAS pilots to join our dynamic team at StirlingX in East Anglia. We deliver expert drone services across sectors like inspection, mapping, and surveying, throughout the UK. Responsibilities
- Operate Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS): Safely and efficiently control RPAS for various missions, including Infrastructure and Asset Inspection, Risk and Hazard Monitoring.
- Mission Planning and Management: Develop detailed flight plans, considering weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and mission objectives.
- Flight Operations: Execute flight operations, both VLOS and BVLOS VM, according to established protocols, maintaining communication with ground control and other relevant parties.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyse mission data, providing accurate and timely reports to stakeholders.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on RPAS and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all regulatory requirements and safety protocols, ensuring the highest standards of operational safety.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training to stay current with technological advancements and regulatory changes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate operational records of flight operations and maintenance activities.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualities:
- GVC and 40+ hours of flight experience
- Thorough knowledge of UK drone laws and compliance rules
- Proficiency in project management, Capable of working closely with a small team where you will need to be flexible, agile and adaptable
- Confidently share constructive ideas on processes, workflows, and Health & Safety
- Capable of working independently and taking the initiative, yet open to seeking guidance and asking questions when needed.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK to conduct operations
- Adept at using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc)
Preferred Experience:
- Multirotor and fixed wing / VTOL experience
- Experience with project management tools such as Atlassian Confluence and Trello
- Payload Integration: Skills in attaching and using various payloads, cameras, thermal sensors and LiDAR
- Familiarity with processing and post processing tools such as PiX4D and Propeller
- Experience using ‘Mission Planner’or UgCS
- Experience conducting operations under BVLOS VM and / or BVLOS
