Job summary

RYA Scotland is seeking an exceptional Pathway Lead Coach to develop Scotland's most talented young sailors within a high-performance environment, delivering coaching across Scottish Sailing Pathway Clubs and collaborating with athletes, coaches, clubs, pathway classes, volunteers, and partners. This role focuses on athlete-centred development and long-term success across the pathway.

Qualifications

• Significant sailing coaching experience within a performance or pathway environment.
• Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes and coaching teams.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
• Collaborative approach and a commitment to developing others.
• A passion for helping individuals achieve their potential both on and off the water.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate coaching programmes across Scottish Sailing Pathway Clubs.
• Develop talented sailors as they progress within the Performance Pathway.
• Manage and support a network of coaches, ensuring high standards of delivery and continuous development.
• Work closely with clubs, classes, parents, volunteers, and key stakeholders to strengthen the talent pathway.
• Contribute to athlete, programme planning, performance review, and long-term development strategies.
• Support RYA Scotland's ambition to inspire, develop, and retain sailors across the country.
