Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Network Administrator to design, secure and optimize our global network infrastructure for a fully distributed workforce. You will monitor performance, implement upgrades, and resolve complex issues from a remote location.

The role requires 5+ years in network admin, strong TCP/IP/routing knowledge, and hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet hardware. CCNA/CCNP or Network+ is desirable; UK remote work with a professional IT team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in network administration with emphasis on remote management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), DNS/DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with major network vendors (Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet).
• Proficiency configuring firewalls, VPNs and security tools; strong monitoring skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication abilities; remote teamwork fit.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or CompTIA Network+ are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage LANs, WANs, and wireless networks.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize speed and capacity.
• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN gateways.
• Ensure security with firewalls, IDS, and access control policies.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity and performance issues remotely.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and network services.
• Plan upgrades and expansions to meet business needs.
• Provide guidance to IT staff and end-users on network issues.
