Job summary

NCFE is seeking a Software Developer to join the Software Delivery team in a home-based/remote role. You will work with an Agile team across UK and international products, designing and implementing solutions using the latest tools and practices.

You will contribute to back-end and front-end development with .NET stack, discuss estimates, and help improve product backlog with the development team and stakeholders. This is a permanent, remote position with 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proven software development experience.
• Strong Microsoft .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, MVC, LINQ, Web API skills, Entity Framework, XML, JSON.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, MongoDB, Windows Server, Visual Studio, JavaScript, TypeScript, KnockoutJS.
• Good understanding of OO concepts and design patterns.
• Experience in Test Driven Development and unit testing.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software components following coding standards.
• Create user-focused solutions and interfaces for a seamless experience.
• Produce high-quality code using modern engineering practices and tooling.
• Participate actively in daily scrums and sprint ceremonies.
• Keep technical knowledge up-to-date and aligned with team goals.
• Collaborate with product owner, QA and dev team to refine backlog items.
• Review requirements and provide estimates on new ideas and feedback to customers.
