Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. invites talented researchers to join the Human Frontier Collective Fellowship as an independent contractor.

You will design, review, and optimize PyTorch models, and evaluate complex ML code for efficiency and correctness while advising on GPU optimization and scaling. The role requires a PhD or postdoctoral degree and 1–3+ years as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist, with strong Python and ML framework skills.

Qualifications

• PhD or postdoctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks; experience with cloud infra (AWS) and MLOps tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engage in high-impact ML projects with partnered labs to design, review, and optimize PyTorch models.
• Evaluate ML code and AI-generated implementations for efficiency and accuracy; advise on GPU optimization and scaling.
