Job summary

Carrington West seeks a Major Projects Planning Officer to help manage a growing urban planning workload in Surrey. The role is a 6-month contract (Inside IR35) with a predominantly work-from-home setup, occasional site visits, and regular meetings.

The candidate will handle strategic and major applications, collaborate with colleagues, and ensure timely, quality outcomes while navigating planning legislation and local development strategy.

Qualifications

• Recent experience on strategic and major developments, including PPA work.
• Access to own vehicle for site visits.
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation and local development strategy.

Responsibilities

• Support the local authority on a range of urban planning cases in progress
• Attend site visits when required, using own vehicle
• Prepare and submit planning documents for strategic, major, and PPA developments
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely and accurate case processing
