Job summary

Highland Capital Brokerage is seeking a Case Manager to handle life, LTC and DI applications for the Life New Business Team. The role may be remote or work in one of our offices across the country as part of a highly collaborative team.

The position requires reviewing applications for accuracy, facilitating communications between Agents/FA’s, VP’s and carriers, and supporting underwriting processes to place cases effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Associate’s Degree required.
• Industry designations (e.g. NAILBA Case Management) are a plus.
• Five+ years Brokerage New Business, General Agency or Life Insurance company experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Review Life Applications for completeness and notify Agents/FA’s and VP's of missing forms or information.
• Verify that telephone/personal history interviews and inspection reports have been ordered.
• Review exam and non-medical requirements to determine risk class.
• Order medical records and communicate with carrier underwriters as needed.
• Proficient with financial underwriting and justification of coverage amounts.
• Manage APS follow-up with vendors or doctors’ offices and set expectations.
• Order illustrations and verify riders and 1035X implications.
• Prepare transmittals to carriers and use PaperClip for document submission.
• Respond to requests for applications and maintain compliance with internal processes.
• Shop cases with carriers to offer alternatives and evaluate underwriting evidence.
