Job summary

Canonical (via VISSPO) is expanding its in-house legal team, offering a role as Legal Counsel – Commercial & Technology Transactions. The position covers drafting and negotiating commercial and technology contracts for a globally distributed environment, including the London office and remote work across EMEA/AMER.

The successful candidate will have a law degree (JD or equivalent) with an active license or progress toward it, exceptional academic history, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in law (JD or equivalent) with active license to practice law or progress toward it.
• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Passionate about technology with a commercial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts globally.
• Provide legal support to internal clients, including Canonical's sales organisation.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to support corporate initiatives.
• Utilise Canonical’s contract management system to maintain contract data.
• Work with local and international counsel across jurisdictions.
