Job summary

Naturally Compliant is expanding its water and drainage service line and seeks an experienced Principal Drainage Engineer to lead construction-phase hydrology work across Scotland and the UK. You will drive drainage design, compliance, and environmental integration with multidisciplinary teams.

The role focuses on developing strategies, delivering assurance, and building client relationships while promoting sustainable, compliant infrastructure outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Good understanding of UK environmental and construction sector regulations.
• Experience with construction phase drainage systems and permit compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Naturally Compliant's water and drainage service line.
• Provide specialist hydrology input during construction for drainage design and compliance.
• Develop drainage strategies and environmental management plans.
• Deliver site-based environmental assurance to clients and contractors.
• Monitor water quality, runoff, and sediment control measures.
• Collaborate with design teams to implement environmentally sound drainage solutions.
