Job summary

Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are recruiting a Locum Information Governance Officer for a Local Authority on an interim basis. This full-time role is remote, with an hourly umbrella rate up to £40 and an ASAP start.

The position focuses on managing FOI and EIR requests and supporting data protection matters. You will liaise with departments, draft responses, identify exemptions, monitor caseloads, and assist Senior Officers with wider IG issues.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Information Governance, preferably in Local Government.
• Strong knowledge of data protection legislation, FOI and SAR processes.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and provide clear and practical advice

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate FOI and EIR requests within statutory timescales.
• Liaise with departments to obtain information and ensure timely responses.
• Draft, review and issue responses to FOI and EIR requests.
• Identify exemptions where appropriate.
• Monitor outstanding requests and manage caseload effectively.
• Support Senior Officers with wider data protection matters
