Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a 4-month contract role in Lowestoft to deliver housing advice and homelessness prevention services for a local authority. You will assess applications under the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and work closely with vulnerable clients and partner agencies.

The role is mainly remote with some face-to-face team meetings. Candidates should have Housing Options/Needs experience and GCSEs in English and Maths, with a 37-hour week

Qualifications

• Experience in Housing Options, Housing Needs or Homelessness Prevention.
• Proven experience assessing homelessness applications and decisions.
• Knowledge of Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Responsibilities

• Assess housing applications under the Housing Act 1996 and the HR Act 2017.
• Provide expert housing advice and homelessness prevention support.
• Conduct homelessness assessments and make legally compliant decisions.
• Prepare and issue decision letters and personal housing plans.
• Manage a diverse caseload with accurate record-keeping.
