Job summary

Canonical is seeking an astute Internal Auditor to design and own internal audit processes, reporting to the CFO and supporting a global software business. The role can be remote (AMER/EMEA time zones) with an option to office in London, UK.

Expect governance across multiple entities with a focus on controls, risk, and automation. We prioritize intellect and strategic thinking, with a strong academic background and professional qualification.

Qualifications

• Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
• Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, technology or other quantitative field.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Prior experience in an internal audit function.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop and maintain the infrastructure for internal audit: templates, risk registers and reporting cadences.
• Conduct the end-to-end internal audit cycle: planning, walkthroughs, testing controls, and documenting steps.
• Evaluate global policies and processes to identify gaps and drive scalable improvements with owners.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify risks, perform audits, and drive corrective actions.
• Deliver actionable insights on risk and controls to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on new initiatives to ensure risk mitigation.
• Develop risk-based internal audit programs and monitor remediation to closure.
