About the role:

As a Software Engineer, you'll be part of a client team building innovative products. We expect you to be curious, passionate, driven, and enthusiastic. You'll be proficient at problem-solving and crafting scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant architectures. You should be an effective communicator and a team player. You and your team will operate in a fast-paced engineering environment, delivering outstanding results and exciting projects.

About You:

A YLD Software Engineering Consultant is a highly-skilled developer who exemplifies the highest standards in software engineering and enjoys sharing their knowledge and experience with others. You will have the opportunity to build and deliver software within interesting projects, both in terms of product and methodology. We work in an Agile environment (Scrum) with a test-first mindset. We are advocates of pair programming, and nothing is released until a code review. You should have a passion for problem-solving, be an active learner, and enjoy working collaboratively.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:
  • Building new features to meet client needs and improving their Digital Platform.
  • Continuously delivering changes as we move to a full CI/CD model.
  • Collaborating closely with your team on engineering initiatives.
  • Participating in regular show-and-tell sessions to showcase your work.
  • Engaging in client internal events, including meetings with external speakers and social activities.
Skills and Experience:
  • Commercial experience with React and Node.
  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Experience with distributed version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience in testing your own products.
  • Knowledge of Typescript and writing automated tests (Cypress).

  • Excellent communicator, able to explain technical ideas in business-friendly language.
