Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Software Engineer for a freelance, short-term engagement with remote work. The role centers on frontend and full-stack tasks, crafting precise prompts for client-side apps, and building verifiable rubrics for evaluation.

You will collaborate with AI labs to boost model performance on real-world client-side development tasks and produce high-quality data for training, while delivering robust UI functionality using JavaScript/TypeScript/React or vanilla JS.

Qualifications

• Must-have: 2+ years of frontend/full-stack development or technical content creation.
• Must-have: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Must-have: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or vanilla JS.
• Must-have: Comfortable writing precise technical specifications and evaluation criteria.

Responsibilities

• Write realistic, self-contained prompts for client-side web apps, games, tools, and simulations.
• Create precise, binary rubrics tagged by verification type.
• Ensure all rubric items are pass/fail and verifiable from screenshot and code inspection.
• Develop high-quality vibe coding data to train models on client-side web development skills, including state management, interactivity, UI correctness, and robustness.
• Collaborate with AI labs to improve AI model performance on real-world client-side web development tasks.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while enhancing AI model performance.
