Job summary

Language Empire is recruiting freelance interpreters and translators based in Normanton to work with NHS, local authorities, police and other organisations across the UK.

We welcome applicants with a DPSI or degree in translation/interpreting, and value bilingual language skills. This self-employed role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to be your own boss while supporting public and private sectors.

Qualifications

• Must have the right to work in the UK
• Aged 21 or over
• Relevant interpreting qualifications or degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Interpret for legal, health and local government services
• Check non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence
• Conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
• Dealing with highly confidential information
• Liaise between the service user and service provider
