Job summary

Hyper Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Formulation Scientist to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation on an 18-month contingent basis. The role offers evaluation of material variability and employs practical formulation and modelling skills, with the option to work remotely or at manufacturing sites across the UK.

The successful candidate will design lab studies, develop small-scale models, and predict drug product performance using computational approaches.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in pharmaceutical formulation and process development, especially with oral solid dosage forms.
• Experience designing and interpreting experimental studies (powder blending, granulation, compression, coating).

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret laboratory studies to assess material variability and supplier changes on drug product performance.
• Develop small-scale models using Science of Scale principles.
• Apply computational models and data analysis to predict process robustness and product performance.
• Conduct formulation-based performance prediction studies for manufacturing and quality risk mitigation.
• Investigate relationships between material attributes, process parameters and product quality attributes.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to provide scientific recommendations and prepare technical reports.
