Job summary

BWS Group is looking for a Fire and Security Engineer to remotely cover Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. The role involves installing, commissioning, servicing and maintaining fire alarms, CCTV, and access control while ensuring compliance with standards.

You will diagnose faults, upgrade systems, and document work for traceability and safety. Travel to local sites and clear client communication are expected.

Qualifications

• Security engineering and information security skills relevant to security systems.
• Network and application security skills for secure integration and communication.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in fire and security systems.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of fire and security systems.
• Ability to follow industry regulations and maintain service records.
• Strong problem-solving, time management and communication skills for safe service.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel locally in Oxford area.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and maintain fire detection and security systems incl. alarms, CCTV and access control.
• Fault finding, system upgrades, testing performance and documenting work for compliance and traceability.
• Respond to call-outs and support preventive maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with the wider team to plan and deliver projects safely and efficiently.
• Communicate clearly with clients about system status and recommended improvements.
