Job summary

SPT Labtech is seeking a Field Applications Scientist on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support UK and Europe. The role is ideally based near Cambridge, London or Oxford and involves significant travel to customers and events.

You will be the main link between Sales, Marketing and customers, providing expert support across our liquid handling product suite and driving customer success with pre-sales demonstrations and post-sale support.

Qualifications

• MSc with 5+ years or PhD with 2+ years in biological sciences or related field.
• Strong knowledge of liquid handling and automation.
• Experience with NGS methods and genomics workflows.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% in UK/Europe.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to present and train effectively to customers.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Organise and run on-site instrument demonstrations and remote software demos.
• Deliver pre-sales technical presentations with sales teams.
• Maintain high-level knowledge of products and applications.
• Provide ongoing remote and in-person applications support to users.
• Develop and optimise liquid handling workflows for customers.
• Deliver applications training to new and existing users.
• Maintain customer data and contribute to conference strategy.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication.
• Create customer-driven content such as notes, webinars and posters.
