Job summary

Michael Page is assisting in filling a Direct Category Manager role in the UK. The position is office-agnostic with fully remote work and occasional travel to sites in the South of England.

You will manage spend in direct categories and drive supplier performance within a global industrial/manufacturing setting. We are seeking candidates with strong procurement/sourcing experience in manufacturing, end-to-end project execution, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Extensive background in procurement or sourcing within manufacturing/engineering environments.
• End-to-end sourcing project experience and disciplined supplier management.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and UK-based availability.

Responsibilities

• Manages annual spend within assigned direct categories.
• Executes category strategy through RFQs, negotiations, and sourcing projects.
• Delivers cost reduction, value engineering, and productivity initiatives.
• Monitors cost, delivery, quality and service KPIs for suppliers in scope.
• Leads supplier reviews and corrective action plans; supports onboarding.
• Maintains pricing, contracts and ERP data; ensures governance compliance.
