Job summary

Ripjar is a remote-first tech company delivering national-security-grade software for financial crime risk. The DevOps Engineer role focuses on reliability and security of infrastructure supporting development and operations. You will help automate deployments, manage Linux hosts, and secure cloud and container environments.

The team emphasizes strong security practices, IaC, and scalable monitoring, with a flexible remote setup across the UK and an option to work from the Cheltenham office.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux hosts in virtual or physical environments.
• Proficient with IaC and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
• Experience configuring and securing AWS or Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker-based apps.
• Networking administration in a corporate setting.
• Automation using Bash, Python, JavaScript, and GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of security testing and monitoring tooling (SAST, SIEM).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Datadog, OpenTelemetry).

Responsibilities

• Automate deployment, operation and maintenance of systems in a hybrid cloud using IaC and configuration management.
• Administer Linux-based systems and applications.
• Design, deploy and maintain IP networks.
• Create self-serve infrastructure capabilities for development teams.
• Improve code security by integrating security testing into pipelines.
• Monitor reliability and security of applications and infrastructure services.
