Job summary

Jobgether on behalf of a partner company is seeking a Data QA Engineer based in the United Kingdom. You will ensure the accuracy and reliability of data for web extraction projects and AI-assisted solutions.

You will translate requirements into QA criteria, perform exploratory and automated testing, and collaborate with managers, developers and clients to improve processes and data quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar role focusing on software testing, data testing, or data quality assurance.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and validation, preferably with Pandas and Jupyter notebooks.
• Strong SQL skills to query and validate data in at least one relational database.
• Solid understanding of web technologies: HTML, XPath, JSON, HTTP, CSS.
• Experience testing HTTP/REST APIs and validating responses against requirements.
• Knowledge of test case design, test data management, and exploratory/automated testing.
• Understanding of data quality principles: completeness, accuracy, consistency, data drift.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and collaboration with developers.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools to improve test case generation and data validation.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer data extraction and web scraping requirements into clear, testable criteria and QA strategies.
• Perform exploratory, manual, and visual testing, supplemented by automated testing where valuable.
• Execute test cycles on extracted datasets to validate compliance with specifications and identify defects.
• Document defects with reproducible steps and evidence for efficient resolution.
• Use descriptive statistics and visualizations to assess data quality, including completeness and drift.
• Prepare quality reports and scoring metrics for internal teams and customers.
• Identify scope, untested areas, and risks to support informed project decisions.
• Collaborate with managers and customers to clarify requirements and ensure measurable QA goals.
• Contribute to test automation framework improvements focusing on coverage, reliability, and performance.
• Suggest QA process/tooling improvements, including browser extensions and UI testing tools.
• Work independently while maintaining close collaboration with QA leadership and developers.
