Job summary

Worldwide Events Group is seeking an experienced Data Protection & AI Governance Consultant to review our governance framework and deliver practical, proportionate guardrails for a global business. You will translate complex regulatory demands into usable guidance for COO Office, IT, HR and AI initiatives.

You will lead current-state assessments, gap analyses and remediation planning, ensuring governance aligns with Microsoft 365, Copilot and third‑party AI tools while enabling teams to operate

Qualifications

• A relevant professional data protection/privacy qualification, supported by substantial practical experience.
• Experience in governance across globally operating organisations.
• Practical expertise with Microsoft 365 and Copilot, including privacy governance considerations.
• Expertise in AI governance, including third‑party AI tools and enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an independent current-state assessment of data protection and AI governance arrangements.
• Complete a full gap assessment and prioritized remediation plan with clear distinctions between legal requirements and practical controls.
• Review policies, DPIA approach, tools register and privacy documentation; simplify and strengthen where needed.
• Assess how data protection and AI governance work in practice across the business and reduce unnecessary complexity for users.
• Establish practical AI governance covering third‑party tools, Microsoft 365 and Copilot integrations.
• Provide independent conclusions on DPO necessity and recommend a governance model and required support.
• Test the governance approach against real‑world use cases to ensure practicality.
