Job summary

Worldwide Events Group is seeking a Data Protection & AI Governance Consultant to independently review our global data practices and establish practical, proportionate governance for a multinational business.

You will translate complex data protection and AI requirements into clear, actionable guardrails, working with IT, HR, and operations to implement compliant processes using Microsoft 365, Copilot, and AI tools across regions.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional data protection/privacy qualification.
• Experience with global organisations and practical governance.
• Practical expertise in Microsoft 365 and Copilot and related AI governance considerations.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory/technical requirements into actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an independent current-state assessment of data protection and AI governance.
• Complete a full gap assessment and prioritised remediation plan.
• Review policies, procedures, privacy documentation and AI assessment approaches; simplify where possible.
• Assess how governance works in practice across the business to reduce complexity.
• Create practical governance processes covering third-party tech, Microsoft 365 and Copilot integrations.
• Provide independent conclusions on whether a formal DPO is required and recommend governance model and support.
