Toptal is a global network of top talent in business, design, and technology that enables companies to scale their teams, on-demand. This Data Analytics Engineer role owns the data transformation layer, governance, and data warehouse quality to support analytics and business decision making.

You will work with Data Engineers and Business Analysts, using SQL, Python, and AI-driven tooling to build trustworthy data assets and actionable insights in a remote environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst role with production data models.
• Expert-level SQL and working knowledge of Python.
• Fluency with LLMs and agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent).
• Experience with cloud data warehousing (BigQuery or Snowflake).
• Knowledge of modern transformation frameworks (dbt, Dataform, SQLMesh).
• Git fluency: PRs, reviews, conflicts.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Cloud Composer, Dagster, Prefect).
• Experience in exploratory/raw data analysis, data modeling, data governance.
• Ability to translate business logic into SQL and tie analytics to business strategy.
• Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Aufgaben

• Design, write, review and ship SQL models transforming raw data into usable data products.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to add and publish new data sources.
• Monitor data warehouse quality, accuracy, coverage, and usability.
• Turn business asks into modeled data and define business rules.
• Improve data quality, lineage, access and retention across sources.
• Own the data dictionary and documentation.
• Diagnose and resolve data incidents.
• Review teammates’ code to maintain data warehouse hygiene.
• Work with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists to enable data-driven decisions.
• Help improve team tooling and playbooks for the warehouse.
