Job summary

Mercor is seeking an Engineering Simulation Specialist for a remote contract engagement. You will develop simulations and specification sheets for AI models to tune controller gains and circuit parameters, define pass/fail thresholds, and create prompts for evaluation.

You will collaborate with AI research teams to ensure model outputs meet engineering standards, write simulations in Python, and work independently in a browser-based studio and GitHub to advance model reasoning.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in control systems, analog or RF circuits, power electronics, or mechanical design.
• PhD or equivalent industry track record.
• Proficient in writing simulations in Python.
• Able to express acceptance criteria as quantitative, testable thresholds.

Responsibilities

• Develop simulations and specification sheets for AI models to design artifacts like controller gains and circuit parameters.
• Define simulations, set specs with pass/fail thresholds, and create prompts for model evaluation.
• Evaluate model designs using an agentic grader to score specification satisfaction.
• Collaborate with AI research teams to ensure model outputs meet engineering standards.
• Work independently and asynchronously in a browser-based studio and GitHub to improve model reasoning.
